Parenting Ain't Easy, But it's Worth it!

Most mornings in our house start off with me hitting the snooze button about ten times before finally getting up to get my daughters and myself ready for the day.  We always seem to be rushing out the door, sometimes forgetting to brush our hair or our teeth, but making it to school just in time before the bell rings.  Things don't seem to slow down much more after "the mornig rush" either, with the house chores, and taking care of my youngest, running errands, picking my oldest up from school, getting homework done, making dinner, getting the kids ready for bed, and then getting up the next morning to do it all over again.   Quite often, usually during a tantrum or during an argument over my phone I find myself constantly questing my parenting skills; why do they argue so much?  Do they spend too much time on my phone? Then as the day ensues I find that I question my parenting skills even more, like when I see a mom at the store only buying organic for her family; Ar

Keepin it Clean, Kind of...

Hello all!  So, often times when friends and family come to my home they seem surprised by how clean the house is.  I have two girls, 7 and 4, so I guess they assume there will be toys everywhere and food all over the floor, but for the most part I am able to keep the house clean.  When my guests ask me what my cleaning secrets are this is what I tell them... I vacuum once a day everyday, I can not stand dirt and food all over the floor, so every morning after breakfast I vacuum the house.  As mentioned above I clean every morning, whatever needs to be done I get it done in the morning so I can enjoy the rest of my day! I have a set day for laundry, I wash all of my laundry on the same day every week, by doing this my kids and my boyfriend know to have all of their clothes in the dirty clothes basket by Monday morning or they will most likely have to wait another week. I have my kids clean up after themselves, the rule in our house is, once your done playing with something, c

I have never been a morning person, I'd much rather stay up all night cozy on the couch watching tv and then sleeping in until 12 in the afternoon ( of course having kids these days I'm lucky if I get to sleep until 9am).  Needless to say I am not much of a breakfast eater or cooker, it's not that I don't like breakfast, I'm just never up in time for it or I don't feel like cooking it (even though it's super easy to cook).   Though my kids may just have to suffer through frozen breakfasts or cereal, every once in a while I get the breakfast cooking bug and make them a bit of a feast.  My favorite time of day to eat breakfast is dinner time, I don't know why but breakfast just tastes better then.  The other night I got the urge to make breakfast, so I cooked bacon, scrambled eggs with cheddar cheese, hash browns, and pancakes. *How I cooked it all-  I cooked the bacon on the griddle first, so that I could use the hot grease from the griddle whil

Easy and Delicious Dinner

Hello all!  I hope you are having a great post Valentine's day.  I really wanted to post this recipe yesterday in lieu of Valentine's day, but things just didn't work out that way.  Anyways, I had this amazing meal the other night; a very tender pork roast cooked on the grill by my boyfriend and parmesan baked peas, carrots, and rice made by me!   As I mentioned my boyfriend cooked the porkloin on the grill, he grilled the pork for about 2 1/2 hours and it was so good! As far as I know he only put two types of spices on the pork: McCormick Chicago Steak seasoning & McCormick N'Orleans Cajun seasoning.   The other yummy part of the meal was the baked parmesan peas, carrots, and rice.  It's such a simple recipe: Small frozen bag of peas, small bag baby carrots, 3 boil-n-bags of rice, 2 tsp garlic, 1 tbsp butter, & 1 cup parmesan.  I cooked the rice in the microwave for 10 minutes, I also cooked the carrots and peas in the microwave for 10 minutes.
